At Soul Theatre, we strive to bring you the greatest artistic quality we can imagine while keeping our ticket prices affordable to everyone. In keeping with the project's mission, tickets to our week of 365 Days/365 Plays will be free to our audience members. In addition, we are making a donation to the Peace Museum and putting on an additional performance for an after-school art class for underprivileged high schol students.
You may wonder: How can you produce a show when you aren't generating any income?
Before we answer this question, we should point out that for most small theatre companies, ticket sales cover less than 20% of the costs of mounting a production.
THE ANSWER IS: YOU!
We depend on financial contributions from individual supporters, corporations, and government arts grants in order to cover the costs of producing. You can make a real difference with a tax-deductible donation to Soul Theatre. No amount is too small (or too large!)

So, you're not rich, but you still want to help us out (and get a deduction on your taxes) - what do you do? Well, one person's trash is another's treasure, right?
Is your office upgrading computers? We'd be happy to take a used one off your hands.
Run a business? You could give us a discount on services we need (printing is a big cost for theatres) or donate merchandise to be given away as a prize or auction item at our next benefit.
Manage a restaurant? Cater an opening night party or offer a pre-show dinner special to audience members.
Have a generous boss? Your company can make a gift and get a tax benefit.

Soul Theatre is now accepting script submissions for our 2007-2008 season. Submissions should be in keeping with our mission (please see the "about" page) and can be emailed to info@soultheatre.com in Word or PDF format. We are particularly interested in works that address the disparities between opposites (belief and action, masculinity and femininity, etc.) or that focus on minority and/or social justice issues.
